Juan Palomino on his return to theater and personal influence on characters

In an exclusive interview with the Argentine News Agency (NA), Juan Palomino spoke about his return to commercial theater, his artistic bond with Fabián Vena, the premiere of "El divorcio del año," and how his own personal experiences influence character building. With sincerity and an adult perspective on relationships, the actor provided definitions that directly connect with the emotional core of the play. "My debut with José was in 'Sex,' I came covered in leather" In this one-on-one, Palomino recalled his first professional meeting with José María Muscari, the show's director: "My debut with José was precisely in 'Sex,' in Carlos Paz, I mean, I came covered in leather," he said with a laugh. The actor detailed that season represented a different kind of challenge: "It was a beautiful experience, but the experience was something else. Like recurring images that appear at certain moments." Additionally, Palomino explained that the play also portrays how technology has changed relationships: "The audience will realize what these characters are going through, wrapped up in what fame and social networks mean. These bonds are built and sustained from the appearance of devices and networks." "Before, a couple would stay together by watching TV. It's something completely different from the structure of this play." Palomino emphasized that this project allowed him to reunite with Fabián Vena after more than two decades: "It allows us to reunite with Fabi. We are very happy with this structure, this family that was formed." Later, when asked if he and Vena drew from personal experiences to portray their characters, Palomino explained: "Fabi was very concrete, very clear, very lucid, and very precise about the experiences, and I believe it's part of a person's emotional heritage." On the other hand, the performer reflected on his own divorces: "My separations have a lot to do with realizing. We hadn't seen each other since 2001, almost 25 years." The actor celebrated the challenge of opening the theater season: "We are going to open the season on January 2nd, we will be the first ones to launch it."
